Own the injection molding process end to end — design the parts and tooling, produce the drawings, set up and configure the machines, and run production to spec. You will take drone component requirements from the design team and turn them into moldable parts with repeatable, in-tolerance output. Key Responsibilities *Design & Drawings* * Create 3D models and 2D production drawings for injection molded parts using CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent) * Apply design-for-manufacturability principles — wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, gate and parting line placement, shrinkage allowance * Produce fully dimensioned drawings with GD&T, tolerances, material callouts, surface finishes, and revision control * Design or specify mold tooling — cavity/core layout, runner and gating systems, cooling channels, ejection, venting * Coordinate with mold makers and tooling vendors on new tools, modifications, and repairs *Machine Setup & Process* * Set up, configure, and operate injection molding machines (hydraulic, electric, and hybrid) * Develop and optimize process parameters — barrel and mold temperatures, injection pressure and speed, hold pressure and time, cooling time, clamp force, cycle time * Perform mold changeovers, purging, and startup/shutdown procedures * Conduct scientific molding studies and DOE trials to establish robust process windows * Document and …
